It’s a sunny December day, a crisp breeze filled the air,

The anticipation, the excitement, the day is finally here.

The girls enter the gym with caution, not sure what they would see,

Welcoming faces from all of the volunteers, presents under the tree.

The DJ’s music pumping, lights going round and round,

Many games to play for prizes, footsteps on the dance floor pound.

A buffet of endless food, so many delicious delights,

Wolfgang’s famous Mac-n-Cheese and more, oh what beautiful sight.

Plates piled high with goodies, so much laughter in the air,

A day of celebrating this family, so much love to share.

Upon Santa’s arrival, the girls hurry to find a seat,

Called up one by one, finally a chance to meet.

The man with rosy cheeks, a beard as white as snow

A big hug and wish list gifts, a personal keepsake photo.

And when all the gifts are given, a loud count “one, two, three”,

The girls ripped open their presents, with many shouts of glee.

“Did you see my new jacket, a beautiful comforter for my bed?”

“Look at my cool sneakers, this is exactly what I wanted!”

All the preparations leads to this moment, everyone smiling from ear to ear,

A little glimpse of sadness knowing, the end of the party is almost here.

The giggles, the endless “Thank You”, hugs of joy from each girl we take,

Your donations, your time and your talent, I hope you realize what a difference you make.
